BROWS 101: A Beginner-Friendly Guide to the Perfect Eyebrows for your Makeup look

We are back with the lazy tutorials and for today’s post I’m going to be walking you through the easiest ways to achieve good looking brows with very minimal products and a few tips here and there.

First of all, before doing anything, make sure that your actual eyebrow hairs are defined. Micro-blading, brow tints, henna brows, etc, there are so many brow defining techniques out there that make it easy to give your natural brows a nice shape. You can always DIY by using a razor blade to define your brows at home without breaking the bank (let me know in the comments if you want an in-depth tutorial on this), I sometimes use a pair of tweezers to remove the unwanted hairs as well.

Let’s get into the tutorial, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Eyebrow pencil/marker/gel/whatever you normally use
  • Clean mascara wand/brush (spooly)
  • Concealer
  • Angled brush/small flat brush
  • Small blending brush
  • Setting powder

Start off by using the mascara wand to brush your hairs upwards, then grab your eyebrow pencil or marker, draw an outline following the shape of your natural brows. Its 2020 okay ladies? natural brows is where it’s at, so make sure to draw light hair-like strokes in between your natural eyebrow hairs to fill them in, go in even lighter at the beginning of the brow.

The next step is to use the mascara brush to blend the drawn stokes and your actual eyebrow hairs together. With the angled or flat brush, apply some concealer around the edges to clean up nicely and make the brows look more defined, use the blending brush to blend out the concealer and setting powder to set the concealer.

Finally take some brow gel and brush up your hairs to keep them in place. Here’s a hack for when you’ve run out of brow gel, use some hair gel and your mascara wand (I use the Eco Styling Gel), it does the trick.

Pro tip: apply some setting powder to the finished brow look to keep it mattified all day, do this to avoid that annoying shinny look that makes your eyebrows seem divided and incomplete in pictures.

It might look crazy at first, but remember to wipe off the powder, slay the rest of your face, and you’re good to go.

There you have it guys, I know everyone has a different technique for their eyebrows, let me know yours in the comments.
